Nira Duvan came to Colorado as an AmeriCorps Volunteer. This ten month adventure evolved into two years with more than 3,700 volunteer hours, convincing Nira that do-good-ing in Colorado was the thing to do. This included serving as Volunteer Coordinator for AIDS Walk CO, coordinating a learn-to-snowboard program for at-risk youth and completing her Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management at Regis University.
Nira served as the Volunteer Manger for four years, at The Action Center, a human services nonprofit in Lakewood. At this position, she managed more than 6,000 volunteers contributing 100,000 hours annually in a very robust environment. Just recently, Nira transitioned to a position with Arapahoe County as a Volunteer Coordinator, where she is expanding a young volunteer program while trying to unravel the intricacies of civic engagement.
