Project Leadership Program Makes Volunteer Projects Smarter

Through in-class training and field experiences, individuals learn the foundational skills of team and project leadership. All participants complete
six hours of in-class learning to equip them to lead projects in any setting. Those who want to achieve certification then move into the field to apprentice with experienced project leaders. After they demonstrate
their mastery of volunteer project leadership, they can guide existing volunteer projects for Metro Volunteers’ member agencies—or create projects of their own for the causes and nonprofits they love.

Why Project Leadership Program?

  • Emerging leaders gain the skills and experience to guide volunteer teams in support of a cause they love;
  • Participants gain foundational skills through in-class trainings. Those pursuing certification apprentice in the field with experienced leaders to develop a mastery of leading and managing project teams for nonprofit agencies;
  • Trained project leaders provide a consistent level of excellence, ensuring volunteers enjoy a quality experience and nonprofits achieve their goals.
