Course Description:
Join Kelly Groen, Director of Volunteer Programs, Denver Botanic Gardens, and Nora Simmons Daly, Volunteer Resources Manager, Visiting Nurses Association, for this two-day seminar that is designed to provide volunteer program managers with tools to increase the effectiveness of their volunteer program. This curriculum is primarily for those that are new to the field of volunteer management and have less than two years experience. The course is divided into 6 modules and participants will receive a manual and certificate of completion to take with them.

  • Understanding Volunteering

  • Planning and Recruiting for your Volunteer Program

  • Recruiting and Placing Volunteers

  • Orienting and Training Volunteers

  • Supervising and Recognizing Volunteers

  • Evaluating your Volunteer Program

Includes:

  • Training binder and handouts

  • Resources to assist implementation at your organization

  • Lunch both days

  • Certificate of Completion

Course Fee: $200 non-members; $175 for members
