Thank
you for your interest in youth mentoring!
|
Why
should you be a mentor?
The
drop out rate in Denver
high schools is 37% and 42% of Denver’s homeless
people are under the age of 18. Studies show that
mentoring programs help young people improve their
school performance, social skills, self-esteem and
ultimately, their future.
By mentoring, you will
strengthen our community and make a difference in
the life of a young person. As a mentor, you
provide a structured trusting relationship that
provides support and encouragement to make better
life choices.
You don’t need any special skills. Mentoring is
simply making a commitment to a young person who
will benefit from a positive adult role model.
How
do I get involved?
