Thank
you for your interest in youth mentoring!

Change a life, be a mentor!
The
Youth Mentoring Collaborative invites you to take
the Metro
Mentor Challenge.
Please help us reach our goal of registering 1000
mentors!
Why
should you be a mentor?
The
drop out rate in
Denver
high schools is 37% and 42% of Denver’s homeless
people are under the age of 18. Studies show that
mentoring programs help young people improve their
school performance, social skills, self-esteem and
ultimately, their future.
By mentoring, you will
strengthen our community and make a difference in
the life of a young person. As a mentor, you can
provide encouragement that helps kids steer clear of
risky activities and lifestyle choices.
Mentoring is easy to do!
You don’t need any special skills. Mentoring is
simply sharing your time with a young person who
will benefit from a positive adult role model.
How
do I get involved?
Submit your information here!
We will register you for a
Mentoring 101 workshop and then help you
decide what organization in the Youth Mentoring
Collaborative would be the best fit for you. You
will then complete an application, interview,
background screening and training with the
organization that you select to do your mentoring.
