What is Impact?
Impact is a program of Metro Volunteers that plans
and manages service projects for volunteers in the
Denver metro area. Impact encourages flexible
volunteer service by scheduling projects in the
evenings and on the weekends. Volunteers can
participate as little or as often as time allows.
Who are Impact
Volunteers?
Impact volunteers are people who are interested
in volunteering in Denver but cannot make a
long-term commitment to a nonprofit agency. Many
want to try a variety of different opportunities,
while others are professionals or college students.
Impact volunteers are encouraged to attend a short
orientation (lead by Metro Volunteers) before
volunteering.
How does Impact benefit
my agency?
Impact provides trained Project Coordinators who
will manage your team of volunteers and communicate
with them about the details of each project. You
will also get groups of volunteers who are reliable,
enthusiastic, and ready to work. Your project will
be posted on our Project Calendar and will get
traffic from a base of highly involved individuals
in our community.
What are Impact project
guidelines?
- Agency
must be a member in partnership with Metro
Volunteers
- Projects
must engage volunteers in direct service to meet
immediate or ongoing needs.
- Projects
must be suitable for groups of volunteers
(generally 5 -20) to meet on a regular and
ongoing basis. Project can be scheduled one to
four times a month.
- Project
must not require a long orientation or
additional training to participate.
- Volunteers
must have adequate supervision at all times.
Who are Project
Coordinators?
Project Coordinators are experienced volunteers
trained to lead Impact projects. They coordinate
logistics and serve as a liaison between your agency
and metro Volunteers. Serving in a unique role,
Project Coordinators develop a long-term
relationship with your agency while working with
different Impact volunteers each month. They report
attendance numbers to Impact while helping to ensure
a positive experience for your agency and all Impact
volunteers.
What is my agency's
responsibility after my project begins?
Your agency's role will be to communicate
regularly with your Project Coordinator and with
Metro Volunteers. Project Coordinators schedule
project dates with you up to three months in advance
and will look to you for support before, during, and
after each project. We also encourage feedback on
your Impact project to ensure volunteers are helping
you reach your project goals. Want to propose a
